Wearing the patch is just the norm for Carter now. He doesn't even seem to mind it. We had another appointment with the eye doctor and the doctor checked his eyes and said the patching worked. Both his eyes are working equally now. So he now wears the patch, alternating eyes, and only for 2 hours a day. 2 hours a day is really nothing as he's awake for 2 hours at a time and doesn't have to keep it on during his nap. His surgery for his eyes is scheduled for February 15th. They will make incisions in both in eyes (under his eyelids) and tighten the muscles trying to over compensate for the brain wanting the eyes to cross (if that makes sense). So after that his eyes should straighten out and he won't have to wear the patch again. Well, at least for now. It's a problem he'll battle for most his childhood and he may wear the patch again and have to have the surgery again. As a mom I'm totally freaked out about my baby having surgery but I try not to think about it too much. Of course the doctor had to tell me all the risks of the surgery and even though those are rare it's hard not to think about them. It is outpatient surgery and we'll be at the hospital only about 6 hours or so. It really is necessary though. The doctor says he has no depth perception and probably sees double of everything. And those things are kind of important.

We love string cheese!

Carter's decided he loves sharing our food and baby food is not so appealing anymore. His favorite food now is Progresso Chicken and rice (or barley) soup. He eats it up. He loved sharing the string cheese and I love the look on his face in this picture.

First Haircut

Since Carter's curly locks were starting to curl around his ears we decided it was time to give him a trim. We only cut the back of his hair but maybe he needed a trim on top too. Tom entertained him during the haircut with Zac's new electric toothbrush.
